Lilia is a committed youth leader with the Federation of Youth in Care Network who worked on a planning committee that organized this year's International Foster Care Organizations conference. She volunteered numerous hours and served as a key support to the 70+ youth in and from care from around the world. Lilia also assembled a youth group called insideOUT aimed at providing supports tand reduce the stigma associated with mental illness, particularly a parent with mental illness.

17-year old Samantha Claver moved to Canada from the Philippines in 2007 as a result of fear of violence in her home country. She has been involved in two theater projects "Where is Home" and "My Firbidden Disorder" that enable newcomer youth to share their migration experiences with the audience. She positively contributes to her community by inspiring and encourgaing young people to particiapte and she continues to be an activist in her local community and abroad.
