WHAT WE DO
B.C.’s Office of the Representative for Children and Youth (RCY) supports young people and families in navigating the provincial child- and youth-serving system. It focuses on reducing child welfare system involvement in Indigenous children’s lives, provides oversight, makes improvement recommendations, and reports to the B.C. Legislative Assembly.
Key Issues
The Representative for Children and Youth addresses child welfare, protection, and rights, advocating for systemic improvements, ensuring children’s voices are heard in policy decisions, investigating child welfare concerns, and promoting services that support the well-being and development of children and youth.
