About the team: In 2015, the Representative’s Office convened its first-ever Social Media Youth Team. The mission? To help the Office spread the word about its advocacy services through social media to all youth in B.C., especially youth in care and First Nations, Métis, Inuit and urban Indigenous youth, and to support the youth outreach efforts of the Office. The Representative strongly believes that youth views must inform the work of the Office and the Social Media Youth Team has proven to be a valuable addition.
The team is comprised of dynamic and motivated youth with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Team members are hands-on, and both advise on and create content for the Representative’s youth-oriented social media accounts. In addition to providing advice and recommendations, they create videos, images, photos, and written content.
